what a weird show. the day before halloween, the lucky dog (a bar) was convinced to have an all-ages show, with eight (!) bands and cat and bird hospital as well. we did "a better life", "let's bring dancing back to the streets", "billy jean" and "12XU". 12XU was, for me, epic. i really wanted us to do a minor threat song, because we were playing a bar. we picked 12XU because it's only two lines, but mostly becasue it starts "this one goes out to everybody". unfortunately, when we asked our mutual friend handsome matt what the lyrics were, he informed us that A. it was actually a song by wire and B. in the minor threat version, the lyric "saw you in a mag, kissing a man" is followed in one instance by "you're a faggot". naw dude. greg didn't want to do the song anymore, i insister we had to "take it back". our lyrics went:
saw you in a mag, kissing a man
saw you in a mag, kissing a man
saw you in a mag, kissing a man
saw you in a mag, kissing a man
that's ok with me.
saw you in a mag, kissing a man
saw you in a mag, kissing a man
saw you in a mag, kissing a man
saw you in a mag, kissing a man
i'm happy you found love.
